Numerical study on damage effects of segmented reactive-core penetrator impacting double-layer steel targets

چکیده
Abstract Reactive penetrator has stronger damage effects due to the combination of penetration and blasting. In this paper, numerical simulations are carried on by LS-DYNA understand mechanism a new type segmented reactive-core penetrator. The primary core secondary made W/Zr reactive alloy PTFE/Al composite respectively, which coated steel shell. Different from Penetrator with Enhance Lateral Effect (PELE), in investigation performs “self-sharpening” behaviour its high-density prefabricated groove. It is shown that impact velocity an influence fragmentation targets, there good balance between ability chemical reaction.
